The 2009 BIO International Convention, which ended Thursday at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, drew more than 14,000 people from 58 countries. Industry leaders representing 1,800 companies participated in more than 14,000 one-on-one partnering meetings during the four-day event. Elton John spoke, the B52s rocked, and despite concerns about the current economy dampening the industry’s largest annual gathering, it appeared to be a good and productive meeting for many in attendance.
