The high rate of published life sciences findings that can’t be reproduced is an area of growing concern with significant consequences. The Global Biological Standards Institute is coordinating an effort to increase the level of reproducibility in research by driving the development and adoption of standards. We spoke to Leonard Freedman, president of the Global Biological Standards Institute, about why so many published studies can’t be reproduced, the consequences for drug development, and why standards can help address the problem.
